Changes:
-My character does not suffer from pneumonia anymore but gout. Explanation is below.
- Venue has moved from bbox to foyer (street theatre)
Reason:
1. By supporting the piece with live music accompaniment, the effect indulging them further and enabling myself to reach deeper into the audiences’ hearts forces them into resignation.
2. Logistics/Limitations - I need the piano!!! Piano cannot be shifted, so have to shift my piece to the foyer
- Music traditions will not follow Robert Rich, but focus on a specific piano piece which is modified (added minor chords for distortion and discomfort effect)
1. Autumn Crocus by Billy Mayerl
Autumn Crocus relieves pain, esp for a medical condition called gout. Gout: High level of uric acid in the blood - Therefore I will have black nervous system drawn on me to show the dying body
I chose Autumn Crocus because it has variations and is able to match my movements according to the emotions in each scene.
2. Entire piece will only have one song (Autumn Crocus)
3. However, the sweet sounding melodies and the start will be distorted. But as the piece progresses to reach freedom of death, song will start to sound more calm and sooth, following the original score
- No scene transitions
1. My scenes have to continue without scene transitions even though it's episodic
2. Hence, change of emotions must be clear
- My scene emotions have changed
Scene 1: Refusal
Scene 2: Resistance
Scene 3: Void
Scene 4: Release
I decided to remove hope because I think I can still convey my DV without that emotion. And I think "release" is the most crucial emotion in this piece and it's stupid that I've failed to identify it earlier.
